(AP) — Astronaut Frank Borman, who commanded Apollo 8's historic Christmas 1968 flight that circled the moon 10 times and paved the way for the lunar landing the next year, has died. Borman also led troubled Eastern Airlines in the 1970s and early '80s after leaving the astronaut corps. He and his crew, James Lovell and William Anders, were the first Apollo mission to fly to the moon — and to see Earth as a distant sphere in space. Astronaut Frank Borman was a true American hero,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in a statement Thursday. In his book, "Countdown: An Autobiography," Borman said Apollo 8 was originally supposed to orbit Earth.

Examples abound of abhorrent speech by students and faculty members, mostly aimed at Israel, Jews and even Jewish students — and yet abhorrent does not equal criminal. By imposing speech codes that ban what they deem offensive speech without clearly defining it, they have encouraged illiberalism in an environment designed to cultivate the liberal arts. Administrators continue to face intense pressure to make statements and take sides, whether from students, faculty members, donors or lawmakers. “There’s no answer that will please everybody,” Erwin Chemerinsky, the dean of the Berkeley School of Law and an expert on free speech, told me. Obviously there are legal red lines to a culture of free speech: threats, intimidation and harassment, to name the obvious ones.

"If you take away our health, you take away our wealth," Sanchez, a community planning manager at the Southeast Environmental Task Force, told Insider. The first-of-its-kind settlement with HUD could be a model for environmental justice advocates in other cities. If the city didn't agree to address environmental harms, it risked losing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal housing money. "Now all levels of city government have to listen to us and develop policies that are protective of public health." Sanchez said the case underscored the importance of updating city policies, because administrations come and go.

Americans are moving for new jobs at the lowest rate in decades, per a recent Challenger survey. Experts say high housing costs, an aging population, and remote work are among the reasons why. As soon as he heard his dad's voice, Eddie, a 19-year-old TikToker, knew something was up. But with AI, the voice on the other end of the phone can now sound eerily like the real deal. Plus, more people are making their real voice available to scammers: McAfee said 53% of adults shared their voice data online weekly. McAfee also found that over one-third of victims lost more than $1,000 in AI scams, with 7% losing more than $5,000. Then, the scammer can just type out whatever they want, and the AI voice will speak what is typed in real time.

These days, Camp is a certified financial planner and owner of Camp Wealth, where her advice to clients skews a little differently. Here's why she says you're better off focusing on one-time, major financial moves rather than dwelling on the day-to-day. "If I don't buy a latte every day, it will save me a good $2,000 a year," she says. If a car is totally necessary, even "buying a car that's a few years old rather than a brand new one" can be a needle-mover, Camp says. To that end, "knowing how to really effectively negotiate your salary and knowing your worth are really important," says Camp.
